Der Streit drüber wollte nicht end'gen;

Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
She loves this, he loves that,
They love each other surprisingly.
In the whole of England there was never
A love so faithful and devoted.
However a parable counts in old England,
I do not know, whether it does elsewhere:
"And he who loves his treasure so much,
May love still others beside that."
She loved the beet, and he the radish,
The quarrel over there just won't end;
to such an extent it holds over in England,
mutual communication is difficult.
That was in England a very strange time:
One fought over radish or beet,
And over the radish - or the beet
Dissolved the sweetest love.
Yes we have them both, where you and I
And our culture much differs,
They now love both the vegetables
And love and live on still.
