Mon cœur, j'ai compris Que tu voulais partir d'ici, Tu dois me dire Quand tu dois revenir ; Alors écoute, cher amour, ce que je te dis, Mon futur que tu interroges, Je n'en connais ni l'heure ni le jour. La jeune femme pleura beaucoup, Son cœur empli de chagrin, Maintenant, donne-moi avis et consignes, Comment dois-je me comporter ? Je dépose pour toi ce que je possède, Et si tu restes ici Je te nourrirai un an et un jour. Le garçon répondit avec courage : Je vois bien ton intention, Si nous mangeons tes biens, Un an sera bien vite passé, Il n'empêche qu'il nous faudra nous séparer Je te prie bien gentiment De bien y réfléchir.
