Sea slumber song
Language: English
Available translation(s): CAT GER ITA
Sea-birds are asleep,
The world forgets to weep,
Sea murmurs her soft slumber-song
On the shadowy sand
Of this elfin land;
"I, the Mother mild,
Hush thee, O my child,
Forget the voices wild!
Isles in elfin light
Dream, the rocks and caves,
Lull'd by whispering waves,
Veil their marbles bright.
Foam glimmers faintly white
Upon the shelly sand
Of this elfin land;
Sea-sound, like violins,
To slumber woos and wins,
I murmur my soft slumber-song,
Leave woes, and wails, and sins,
Ocean's shadowy might
Breathes good night,
Good night!"

Cançó de bressol del mar
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the English
Els ocells marins dormen,
el món oblida el plorar,
el mar mormola la seva dolça cançó de bressol
damunt la sorra ombrívola
d'aquesta terra èlfica;
"Jo, la dolça Mare,
et faig callar, oh fill meu,
oblida les veus ferestes!
Illes de llum èlfica
somien, les roques i coves,
bressolades per ones remorejants,
amaguen llurs marbres lluents.
L'escuma refulgeix tènuement blanquinosa
damunt la sorra i les petxines
d'aquesta terra èlfica;
la remor del mar, com violins,
corteja la son i venç,
jo murmurejo la meva dolça cançó de bressol,
deixa anar penes, laments i pecats.
El poder ombriu del mar
alena bona nit,
bona nit!"
