Ghi sijt mi ver, ic ben u nae: waer ic ooc ben en gae en stae, den cortsten dach, den lancsten nacht hebbic aen u, mijn lief, ghedacht. Ic slaep, en als ic wacker ben, dan vliecht mijn herte tot u hen en wil u brenghen ene groet, mijn liefken schoon, mijn liefken goet. En als ic drome comt mi voor, als of ic stae voor uwer door, dan roepic door uw vensterkijn: God houdu, soete minne mijn! Och, dat ic u nu derven moet! vaer wel, het sal noch worden goet: God is ghetrouw, hi gheeft den tijt, die noch ons beider hert verblijt.

Du bist mir fern, nah bin ich dir: Wo ich auch bin, dort oder hier, Den kürzesten Tag, die längste Nacht Hab' ich an dich, mein Lieb, gedacht. Ich schlaf', und wenn ich munter bin, So fliegt zu dir mein Herze hin Und bringt dir einen Gruß von mir, Mein süßes Lieb, du schönste Zier! Und wenn ich träume, kommt mir für, Als ob ich steh' vor deiner Thür, Dann ruf' ich dir durch's Fensterlein: Behüt dich Gott, süß Liebchen mein! Ach Gott, wie weh das Meiden thut! Leb wohl! es wird noch werden gut: Gott ist getreu, er giebt ein Heut, Das unser beider Herz erfreut.
