Es hat einmal ein Tor gesagt,
Dass der Mensch zum Leiden geboren worden:
Seitdem ist dies, Gott sei's geklagt!
Der Spruch aller gläubigen Toren geworden;
Und weil die Menge aus Toren besteht,
Ist die Lust im Lande verschworen worden;
Es ist der Blick des Volkes kurz,
Und lang sind seine Ohren geworden!
