Állok kinn a tenger partján, mélázok a vizeken: merre mentél, hova tűntél, Te sokat tűrt idegen. Ide látszik Ithakának felszálló füstfellege, hű feleség karja átfog. Bút-bajt feledsz - engem vele. Hűvös szél fú Ithakából, nem te küldted? Borzogat. Állok künn, a tenger partján, s irigylem a holtakat.
