Hi havia una vegada dos fills de rei que s’estimaven molt, però no podien estar junts, l’aigua era massa profunda. Cor estimat, no saps nedar? Cor estimat, neda doncs cap a mi; jo posaré tres espelmes que et faran llum. Allà hi havia una falsa monja que feia com si estigués dormint, ella apagà les espelmes i el jovencell s’ofegà en la fondària. La filla de rei es posà el seu mantell i saltà dins del mar. Adéu! Pare meu i pare meva, no em veureu mai més! Aleshores se sentiren tocar les campanes, se sentiren plors i laments; allà jauen dos fills de rei, tots dos són morts.
