Wo ein treues Herze
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FIN FRE GRE ITA KOR POR
Der Müller.
 Wo ein treues Herze
 In Liebe vergeht,
 Da welken die Lilien
 Auf jedem Beet.

 Da muß in die Wolken
 Der Vollmond gehn,
 Damit seine Thränen
 Die Menschen nicht sehn.

 Da halten die Englein
 Die Augen sich zu,
 Und schluchzen und singen
 Die Seele [zu]1 Ruh'.

Der Bach.
 Und wenn sich die Liebe
 Dem Schmerz entringt,
 Ein Sternlein, ein neues,
 Am Himmel erblinkt.

 Da springen drei Rosen,
 Halb [roth,]2 halb weiß,
 Die welken nicht wieder,
 Aus Dornenreis.

 Und die Engelein schneiden
 Die Flügel sich ab,
 Und gehn alle Morgen
 Zur Erde [hinab]3.

Der Müller.
 Ach, Bächlein, liebes Bächlein,
 Du meinst es so gut:
 Ach, Bächlein, aber weißt du,
 Wie Liebe thut?

 Ach, unten, da unten,
 Die kühle Ruh'!
 Ach, Bächlein, liebes Bächlein,
 So singe nur zu.

W. Taubert sets stanzas 1-3

Quando um coração fiel
Language: Portuguese (Português)  after the German (Deutsch)
O Moleiro:
Quando um coração fiel
Esmaece por amor,
Então os lírios murcham
Em todos os canteiros;
Então a lua cheia tem que
Ir para trás das nuvens,
Para que suas lágrimas
Não sejam vistas pela humanidade;
Então os anjinhos fecham
Os seus olhos
E soluçam e cantam
Essa alma para o seu descanso.

O Rio:
E quando o amor
Se livra da dor,
Uma pequena estrela, um nova,
Pisca no céu;
Então três rosas,
Metade vermelhas e metade brancas,
Que nunca murcham,
Saltam dos rebentos espinhosos.
E os anjinhos cortam
Suas próprias asas
E vêm todas as manhãs
Aqui para baixo na terra.

O Moleiro:
Ah, riacho, querido riacho,
Você o diz muito bem:
Ah, riacho, mas você sabe
Como é que o amor procede?
Ah, embaixo, bem lá embaixo
O frio repouso!
Ah, riacho, querido riacho,
Somente cante para mim.
