Ma chanson résonne encore de mon amour quand le vieux jour se meurt et quand la pauvre mousse en son habit recueille secrètement des perles. De larges manches et de larges culottes sont pour le tsigane plus libres qu'une soutane cousue d'or. La soutane et cet or étreignent la poitrine bouillonnante, sous cet habit meurt violemment la chanson. Et toi qui te réjouis, quand ta chanson est en fleur, souhaite que périsse l'or dans le monde entier!
