Colombetta: Serenata veneziana
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Available translation(s): ENG
La bella Colombetta
Al caldo si riposa
Ma vuol far un tantin la ritrosa
Al balcone mostrarsi non va
Rimane a furbetta.
Dietro al balcon ascosa,
Ascoltando la voce amorosa
D'Arlecchino l'amante fedel
Che di fuori all'acqua al vento
Chiede grazia e vuole entrar
E ripete dolcemente
La sua mite canzonetta,
Colombetta, Colombetta,
Apri l'uscio, non farmi penar
Del balcon solleva il velo
Apri amor se no qui gelo
Colombetta, Colombetta,
Arlecchino gelando si sta.
Accorda il mandolin,
Il povero Arlecchin.
Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! che fu?
Non canta più
Oh! povero Arlecchin!!!
Gelato
È forse là!!!
Arlecchin,
Rispondi.
Sei vivo?
Vieni qua
Deh, vieni poveretto
Amante mio fedele,
Colombetta fu troppo crudele
Di lasciarti là fuori a gelar.
Ti vieni a riscaldare
Dalla tua Colombetta
Nella piccola sua cameretta
E seduti vicino al Camin
Parleran del loro amore,
Colombetta ed Arlecchin
Già ti sento mormorare
E ripeter: Mia diletta
Colombetta, Colombetta
Arlecchino sol vive per tè
Ed allor a te vicino
Ti dirò caro Arlecchino:
Colombetta, Colombetta, è tutta per te
Vieni sorridimi caro Arlecchin
Bacciami pizzica stammi vicin.
Arlecchin!

Colombina: Venetian serenade
Language: English  after the Italian (Italiano)
The beautiful little Columbina
In the heat rests
But she wants to play the coy one
At the balcony she will not show herself.
She remains mischievously
Behind the balcony hidden,
Listening to the amorous voice
Of Harlequin, her faithful lover.
Who from outside in the water, the wind
Asks for grace and wants to enter
And repeats sweetly
His mellow little song:
“Columbina,
Open the door, don’t make me suffer!
From the balcony lift the veil,
Open, love, if not I will freeze here.
Columbina,
Harlequin stands here freezing.”
Tuning his mandolin,
Poor Harlequin.
Ah! what happened?
He isn’t singing anymore.
Oh! poor Harlequin!
Maybe he’s frozen
there!
Harlequin,
answer.
Are you alive?
Come here,
oh, come poor little one
My faithful lover,
Columbina was too cruel
To leave you out there to freeze.
Come warm yourself up
With your Columbina
In her little room
And seated near the fireplace
Speaking of their love,
Columbina and Harlequin.
Already I hear you whisper
And repeat: “My beloved
Columbina,
Harlequin only lives for you.”
And then close to you
I will say to you dear Harlequin:
“Columbina, it is all for you.”
Come smile at me dear Harlequin
Kiss me, pinch me, be close to me.
Harlequin!
