Language: Bavarian (Boarisch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Tånzen und singen, dås is mei Freud,
z' rafen und ringen, då hätt'i a Schneid.
Und bin i recht zurnig, und bin i recht zach,
nur An's måcht mi hamlich, nur An's måcht mi wach:
A Busserl von Diandlan, dås schmeckt hålt so fein!
A Busserl von Diandlan, und guat muass i sein.
's Beten und Frummsein geht mir nit ein,
i sitz hålt viel liaber in Wirtshaus bein Wein.
Doch zupft mi mei Diandle und sågt „Gehst nit ham?”,
då gibt's mir an Drahler, wer' wach wia a Lahm.
Noch An's möcht' i håben, dånn stirb i mit Lust:
A Busserl von Diandlan, dås lindert den Schmerz!
A Busserl von Diandlan, dann bricht's Karntnerherz.

A kiss from my lassie
Language: English  after the Bavarian (Boarisch)
To dance and to sing, that's my joy,
to brawl and to fight, that's what I fancy.
And if I'm very angry and in an ill mood,
there's one thing that soothes and softens me:
A kiss from my lassie that tastes so good;
a kiss from my lassie, and I'm quite tame again.
Praying and devoutness is not my thing,
I prefer to sit in an inn with a good glass of wine.
But when my lassie plucks at me and says: "Won't you go home?"
That gives me a jolt, and I become as soft as clay.
A kiss from my lassie - that changes my mood,
a kiss from my lassie would make even the devil pious.
If the emperor calls for me to fight for my country --
we Carinthians are known for our bravery! --
And if a bullet hits me and tears my chest,
there's one thing I'd like to have, and then I'll die with pleasure:
A kiss from my lassie that relieves the pain,
a kiss from my lassie, and then the Carinthian heart will break.
