Lenztraum

Dreams of Spring
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Gone is that dream of rapture, my heart is sad. With tears my eyes are blinded, that once were so glad. Which is the way that led to those joys of yore? The bridge is gone, that thither led, the pathway with grass (is) grown o'er.
Note provided by Johann Winkler: the excessive length of the penultimate line takes advantage in a repetition of the original in Hubay's setting.
