Wie ist mir, ach, so weh', steh' kahl in Frost und Schnee; die Rosen hat der Herbst geraubt, der Winter Zweig um Zweig entlaubt. Nur Dornen blieben mir; verzweifeln müsst' ich hier, wo es um mich stürmt und friert, wo es um mich stürmt und schneit, gäb's nicht Hoffnung auf bess're Zeit!
