Auf der Reise lieb' ich sehr Freundliches Begegnen, Scheu die englisch Groben, mehr Noch die deutsch Verlegnen. Wetter, Weg und Kostbescheid Mögen uns vereinen; Man vertraut sich mit der Zeit: Denken -- Fühlen -- Meinen. Denkt man gleich, mag man sich freu'n; Ungleich, -- sich ergötzen; Reisekameradsverein Wird das nicht verletzen. Ist mein Geist auch in Peru, Deiner auch in Flandern, Können wir im selben Nu Doch beisammen wandern! Fröhlich steigen, friedlich ruhn, Kämpfen mit den Räubern, Uns im Wirthshaus gütlich thun Mit vereinten Leibern. Und es wird, was leicht begann, Sich zum Ernste wenden. Als Gesell schloß man sich an, Um als Freund zu enden.
