Still, still, still! Es schweiget Feld und see und Wald, Kein Vogel singt, kein Fußtritt hallt; Bald, bald Kommt weiß und kalt Der todte Winter über dich, Erde, Und deine Kinder. Auch du wirst still, Mein Herz; der Sturm, der sonst so wild Dich rüttelt, schweigt. Ein jedes Bild Verhüllt. Ganz, ganz gestillt Liegst du im Schlummer. Es schweigt die Freude, Es schläft der Kummer. Still, still, still! Er kommt, er kommt, der stille Traum Von einen stillen kleinen Raum. Kaum, kaum, Du müder Baum, Kannst du noch stehen. Bald wird dich kein Auge Mehr sehen.
