Psaníčko
Language: Moravian (Moravština)
Available translation(s): ENG
Dybych była vtáčkem
tým małým sokołem,
zatočiła bych se
nad miłého dvorem.
Nad miłého dvorem,
nad jeho maštalú,
podvała bych se,
co chłapci děłajú.
Jeden koně češe
druhý vodu nese,
třeti za stolíčkem
pod svojím kłobúčkem
písaníčko píše.
Komu že, můj miłý,
písaníčko píšeš?
Tobě, moja miłá,
že už moja budeš.

A Brief Message
Language: English  after the Moravian (Moravština)
If I became a bird,
a little falcon bird,
I’d be flying around
above my love’s courtyard.
Above my love’s courtyard,
there where his stables stand,
so I could have a look,
see the lads at their work.
One is grooming a steed,
a second brings water,
at a table the third,
in his hat a feather,
sits writing a letter.
Who is it for, my dear,
this message that you write?
It says, my girl, my dear,
you will be mine at last.
