Aj zerzaj, zerzaj,
muj koničku vrany,
přes pole jeduci,
aby usłyšeła
moja najmilejši
v komurce seďuci.
Jak ho usłyšeła,
zapłakať museła
o koňa vraneho,
nětak o konička,
jako o Janička,
Janička švarneho.
Svitiło słunečko
na me okenečko,
od pulnoci měsiček
ach, že už mi zarust
od meho miłeho
přes zahradku chodniček.

Longing
Language: English  after the Moravian (Moravština)
Hey whinney, whinney,
my fine raven black steed
cantering through the field,
so my darling can hear
you calling loud and clear
as she sits in her room.
By that familiar sound
my love was moved to tears,
by the raven black steed,
not so much by the horse
as by Johnnie, of course,
Johnnie the handsome lad.
Brightly shone the sunshine
in my tiny window,
and, after midnight, the moon,
ah, my dear lad’s pathway
down my little garden
is by now quite overgrown.
