Al vespre navegàvem damunt el tranquil riu, rosada i brillant es dreçava l’acàcia, rosats resplendien els núvols. Jo però, a penes els veia, només veia la flor de pruner als teus cabells. Somrient, seies a la proa del vaixell ornamentat, tenies el llaüt a les teves mans destres, cantaves una cançó del sagrat país dels teus pares, mentre la joventut flamava als teus ulls. Mut, jo era al masteler i desitjava ser per sempre l’esclau d’aquells ulls fulgurants, escoltar eternament la cançó en una dolça pena i el tocar plaent de les teves delicades mans, com flors.
