Du wunderholde Maid!

Thou maiden, wondrous fair
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Oh maiden, wondrous fair, Whose accents breath of heaven! My heart and life are given To thee for evermore. If though wouldst only deign One token of thy favor, Then I would serve thee ever In pleasure or in pain. Oh maiden, wondrous fair. For thee were danger nigh I'd meet grim death tomorrow: If it would spare thee sorrow, How gladly would I die! But shouldst you condescend To bid me live beloves, Not death, but life I'd covet, Life that would never end. Oh maiden, wondrous fair.
From the Kücken score.
