Über den Zaun floh der Apfeldieb, Wo ihm sein Halstuch hängen blieb; Wäre so spitz die Dorne nicht, Stünde der Sünder nicht vor Gericht. Einen Bubenschuh fand man früh am Tag, Der unter dem Fenster des Mädchens lag; Hätt' sie die Leiter ihm nicht gestellt, Wüßt' es nicht heute die halbe Welt. Stäupt ihn, Schulze und Polizei, Selig umschwebt den Schelm dabei Der himmlische Rausch von dazumal, Als er die Äpfel und Küsse stahl.
