cela me suffit, ô mon Dieu, cela me suffit.
J'adore vos decrets éternels et impénétrables ;
je m'y soumets de tout mon cœur pour l'amour de vous ;
[et j'unis]3 ce sacrifice à celui de Jésus-Christ, mon divin Sauveur ;

Prayer of Madame Elizabeth in her prison
Language: English  after the French (Français)
What will happen to me today, oh my God,
I know nothing of. All I know
is that nothing will happen to me
that you have not [predicted]1 or ordained [for] all eternity.
That is enough for me, oh my God, that is enough for me.
I adore your eternal and impenetrable decrees;
I there submit myself with all my heart for your love's [sake];
I desire all, I accept all, I sacrifice everything to you,
and I join this sacrifice with that of Jesus Christ, my divine Savior;
and I ask You in his name and by its merits,
patience within my sorrows and the perfect submission
which you are owed for everything which you desire and [allow to come to pass]2.
Amen.
