Wanderschaft durch dämmernden Sommer
An Bündeln vergilbten Korns vorbei. Unter getünchten Bogen,
Wo die Schwalbe aus und ein flog, tranken wir feurigen Wein.
Schön: o Schwermut und purpurnes Lachen.
Abend und die dunklen Düfte des Grüns
Kühlen mit Schauern die glühende Stirne uns.
Silberne Wasser rinnen über die Stufen des Walds,
Die Nacht und sprachlos ein vergessenes Leben.
Freund; die belaubten Stege ins Dorf.

Errance par un été crépusculaire
Au long des gerbes de blé jaunissant. Sous des arches blanchies
Où entraient et sortaient les hirondelles, nous buvions du vin généreux.
Beau : ô spleen et rire pourpré.
Le soir et le sombre parfum du végétal
Rafraîchissent d'un frisson nos fronts brûlants.
Des eaux argentines coulent sur les degrés de la forêt,
La nuit, et sans voix une vie oubliée.
Ami ; les sentiers ombreux vers le village.
