Joy
Language: English
I never saw the sun so bright, Nor caught such perfume on the air; I ne'er beheld such starry night, Nor woke to see the dawn so fair; I never felt such precious rest, Such inborn joy of life ne'er knew Till I found love within my breast And added joy from loving you. I never knew that life could be So rich and glad, so gay with bliss; I had not guessed the heart of me Would flow as gold with happiness; I never knew the tide of joy Could lift and float me free till you Came into port with ship ahoy, Like mirth atop a sea of blue!
