Die Bank, drauf ich so oft mit ihm Gekoset und gelacht, Sie ist gebrochen und war doch fest Aus Eschenholz gemacht. Sie ist entzwei, sie ist entzwei, Wie unsre Liebe ach! Sie ist gebrochen, die holde Bank, Wie er die Treue brach. Und so, wie nimmer zusammenwächst, Ach nimmer, Stück mit Stück: So kehrt auch niemals, niemals wohl Der alten Liebe Glück!
