O Natal do Céu
Language: Portuguese (Português)
Available translation(s): ENG
Meu filho, levou-mo Deus...
Levou? Nem sei! Afinal,
Eu vejo o sempre, tal qual,
Seus olhos fitos nos meus.
Meu filho, levou-mo Deus...
Passou, agora, o Natal:
Na terra como nos céus...
Sonhei, e vi o, entre as flores,
Hinos, estrelas e amores
De alto Presépio divino.
E a Virgem, mostrando o ao colo:
"Olhai! É mesmo um consolo...
Lembra Jesus em menino!"

The Christmas from Heaven
Language: English  after the Portuguese (Português)
My son, God took him from me...
Did He? I don't even know! After all,
I see him ever in perfect detail,
his eyes fixed on mine.
My son, God took him from me...
Christmas is over now:
on earth as in heaven...
I dreamed, and I saw him, amongst the flowers,
Hymns, stars and love
of that lofty divine crib.
And the virgin, showing him in her arms:
"Look! What a consolation...
He is like the boy Jesus!"
