A Senhora dos Remédios
Language: Portuguese (Português)
Available translation(s): ENG
Há logo à entrada do povo,
Uma pequena capela;
A Senhora dos Remédios
É quem mora dentro dela.
Freguesia em freguesia,
Sete léguas em redor,
Não há Santa, nem capela,
Com mais fama e mais amor.
Não há mal que lá não vá...
Para ser remediado:
Ele a doença; ele a renda;
Ele a vida de soldado.
E a Senhora dos Remédios,
Na pequenina capela,
A dar luz a tanta sombra,
Como se fosse uma estrela!

The Lady of Remedies
Language: English  after the Portuguese (Português)
At the village gates,
there is a small chapel;
Our Lady of Remedies,
It is she who lives there.
In every parish,
seven leagues around,
There is no saint, nor chapel,
with more fame and more love.
There is no ill that doesn't go there...
to be healed:
Be it sickness, financial need,
or the life of a soldier,
And the Lady of Cures,
in the little chapel,
Bringing light to such darkness,
as if she were a star!
