Muß ich schon gehen? Wie heb' ich vor Sorgen, Dich wiederzusehen! Wie lang ist's bis morgen! Wie viel kann geschehen, Was Niemand gedacht Über Nacht! O siehst du noch blühen Die Sterne dort oben, Wie viele, die glühen, Sind morgen zerstoben, Und müssen versprühen Die funkelnde Pracht Über Nacht! Wie oft bis die Glocken Am Morgen erklangen, Ergrauten schon Locken, Und bleichten schon Wangen, Und fielen Schneeflocken! Fällt Ruhm nicht und Macht Über Nacht? Und muß ich jetzt scheiden, Und muß ich bis morgen Dich Liebste meiden, So theile die Sorgen Der Liebe, der Leiden Unendliche Macht Über Nacht!

Ein duftig Sträußlein auf dem Hut Und frischer Mut und junges Blut, So läßt sich's fröhlich wandern! Das Sträußlein kam von ihrer Hand, Und um den Hut das grüne Band Kam auch von keiner andern. Und übers Jahr, o Lieb', o Glück! Kehr' ich mit Strauß und Band zurück, Daß sich ihr Herz dran freue, Und ist verwelkt der frische Strauß Und wusch das Band der Regen aus, Hielt Farbe doch die Treue.

Auf sonnigen Bergen, auf grünenden Höh'n, Da herrschet ein König, so mächtig; Sein Schloß ist in ewigem Glanze zu seh'n, Sein Hofstaat ist herrlich und prächtig. Mit jugendlich grünenden Reben bekränzt, Ist stets er von Freude und Wonne umglänzt. Was kann das für ein Herrscher sein? Das ist allein der König "Wein"! Schenkt ein! Der "Durst" ist sein schlauer, geheimer Fourier, Die "Lieb' " Ceremonienmeister, Die "Heiterkeit" dient ihm als Hofcavalier, "Lust, Freude" sind dienstbare Geister; Sein Feldmarschall "Rausch" führt im blitzenden Heer "Scherz, Wahrheit und Geist" triumphirend einher. Drum preise, wer nur preisen kann, Den König "Wein" als bravsten Mann. Stoßt an! Soldaten, Studenten sind fröhliche Leut', Sind alle dem Weine ergeben, Das erste Gesetz jedes Sängers gebeut, Zu huld'gem dem Safte der Reben; Denn gleich einem Gotte befreit er das Herz Von düsteren Sorgen, von Kummer und Schmerz. Bringt jetzt ein Hoch mit Saus und Braus, Daß ewig grünt das Königshaus: Trinkt aus!
