by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Frau Sonne
Language: German (Deutsch)
Frau Sonne hell, Frau Sonne hoch,
Du schaust auf mich hernieder;
Kennst du den alten Wandrer noch?
Du kennst ihn nimmer wieder!

Frau Sonne hell, Frau Sonne gut,
Kannst du auch Wunden heilen?
Mir bricht das Herz, mir brennt das Blut,
Frau Sonne, thu' dich eilen!

Frau Sonne zog so still durchs Thal
Und gab mir schlimme Kunde:
"Es dringt so tief kein Sonnenstrahl,
So tief, wie deine Wunde!"

Confirmed with Wanderzeit. Ein Liederbuch von Karl Stieler, Stuttgart, Verlag von Adolf Bonz & Comp., 1882, page 69.
