Souvenir de Malmaison

Language: German (Deutsch)

Die menschenblaße Rose legte ich
auf deine kalten, überkreuzten Hände,
und strich dein Haar zurück, und pflegte dich,
ob ich dein jubelnd Leben wiederfände.

Im Zimmer, irrgeflogen, regte sich
ein Schmetterling, die alte Grablegende.
Dein Sarg schloß zu. Der Kummer fegte mich
in fernes Land, aus trostlosem Gelände.
