by Adolf Frey (1855 - 1920)

Einem Gott gleich zieh' ich ungebunden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Einem Gott gleich zieh' ich ungebunden
Durch die Frühlingslande auf und nieder,
Thal und Wald und Felsenklüfte
Rufen schallend meine Lieder wieder.

Flügel möcht' ich noch dem Winde leihen,
Feuer möcht' ich in die Sterne tragen,
Tausend Strudelquellen, tausend Ströme
Möcht' ich jauchzend aus den Felsen schlagen.

Fessellose Gluthen erster Liebe
Schlagen über meinem Haupt zusammen,
Und die Erde und die Himmel alle
Glühen mit in diesen Opferflammen.
