by Rudolf Sperling (1835 - 1917)

Wolkengleich die Wogen wandern
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wolkengleich die Wogen wandern,
Wogengleich die Wolken ziehn;
Wie dem Strande, -- wie dem Lande
Sehnend sie entgegenfliehn!

Schneller noch als Wind und Wellen,
Höher als der Wolkenzug,  --
Nach dem Strande, -- nach dem Lande
Nimmt die Seele ihren Flug --

Dorthin, wo am Dünenhügel
Traulich blinkt ein Fensterlein,
Und zwei warme, weiche Arme
Freundlich winden:  "Komm' herein!"
