Omnes gentes plaudite (All ye nations rejoice)
Language: English
I see three doves, the Wise Men’s gifts To Bethlehem’s Babe come by. One for His head, One for His feet, And one to guard the sky. One for the land, one for the sea, One in the fair white clouds to be. Ro-la, ro-la, ro-la, Christ is born! Christ is born! And dear, ah dear to all is He. Omnes gentes plaudite. O bright winged doves! what dazzling hopes, What olive leaves you bring. A three-fold gift, a three-fold peace, For Christ the new-born King. Peace for His land, and for His sea, And for His sky, brave trinity! Ro-la, ro-la, etc. Oh, make a manger in your hearts, That Christ the Lord be laid There as of old with joy, and sing Cheerly and unafraid. Oh sing with me! Oh sing with me! And bring to Him your fealty. Ro-la, ro-la, etc.
