heut alle zum Gebet.
Der Andacht Lieder tönen, 
es schwingt im frohen Sehnen [auch: im frommen Sehnen]
sich unser Herz empor.
Neig' uns, o Herr, neig' uns dein Ohr.

Groß ist, was Gottes Gnade 
uns allen wieder gab,
doch weichen von dem Pfade 
des Guten wir oft ab.
Wir fühlen das mit Reue 
und flehen heut' aufs neue
zu Gottes Vaterhuld: 
Trag', Vater, trag' uns mit Geduld.
