Sie saßen zusammen und tranken Thee

Language: German (Deutsch)

Sie saßen zusammen und tranken Thee,
Und machten flaue Gesichter,
Die einen sprachen vom ABC,
Die andern putzten die Lichter.

Da meinte einer, es wär' doch gut,
Zum Zeitvertreib zu reimen,
Fing an sein bischen Liebesgluth
In glatte Verse zu leimen.

Ein andrer wieder mit Geschrei
Erzählte sein Examen,
Daß gleich Novellchen, eins, zwei, drei,
Davon zum Vorschein kamen.

Ein dritter riß 'nen schlechten Witz,
Und machte draus 'ne Posse,
Ein vierter braute schnell wie der Blitz
'Ne tragikomische Glosse.

Das Zeug las einer dem andern vor,
Der lobt' ihn ins Gesichte,
Und staunend schrie der ganze Chor:
"O wunderschöne Gedichte!"
