Mein ewiges Lied bist du

Voll glühender Liebeswonne, träumend von Küssen allein,
stürmt' ich über die Fluren im goldenen Mondenschein.
Da rauschten so lustig die Blüten, die Vöglein hatten nicht Ruh',
mitsingen musst' ich und jauchzte: mein ewiges Lied bist du.

Schwarz hingen Wolken am Himmel, Donner murmelten fern,
trüb' in dem Spätrot barg sich der flimmernde Abendstern.
Welkende Blüten wehte ein kalter Sturm mir zu;
heimlich und stille sang ich: mein ewiges Lied bist du.
