Ein Mägdlein ging am See auf grüner Wiesen Klee; das Herzlein schlug ihr sehr, der Traute war nicht mehr. Die See ihn jüngst verschlang im wilden Wogendrang; viel Tränen sie vergoss auf einsam stillem Schloss. Oft ging sie an den Strand und flicht ein Blumenband, versenkte dann es tief, wo der Geliebte schlief. Einst, als sie dieses tat, sein Bild treu vor sie trat mit heißem Liebesfleh'n, ihm bald doch nachzugeh'n. Da sank sie bräutlich warm in seinen off'nen Arm; das Herzlein schlug ihr sehr, auch sie war nun nicht mehr.
