und wie bald, war's um meine Ruh' gescheh'n.
Sprach von Lieb', sprach von Leid,
schlang den Arm so leis um mich,
zitternd hab' ich's gefühlt,

Und nun hat er mich gar 
auf den blassen Mund geküsst,
und ich schwieg, doch mir war 
grad' als ob ich sterben müsst!
