Als ich zu meiner Jadeflöte sang,
War es dem Menschen wie ei dunkles Haus.
Sie höhnten furchtsam meine Lieder Haus.
Da hob die Flöte ich zu den Unsterblichen.
 
Die Götter tanzten hell auf sanft erglühter Wolke.
Die Menschen, die die Tänzer sahen, wichen Beglückt.
Und Jubel wuchs wie Sterngesträuch im Volke,
Als ich zu meiner Jadeflöte sang.
