by Klamer Eberhard Karl Schmidt (1746 - 1824)

Die gute Stunde
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Glück ist rund! zur guten Stunde
Traf ich, des Sieges ungewiß
Das Mädchen, mit dem kleinen Munde,
Das braune Mädchen Dorilis.

Das Mädchen, mit dem kleinen Munde,
Ist sonst zum Fliehen aufgelegt:
Ich aber kam zur guten Stunde,
Worinn man hübsch zu bleiben pflegt!

Ich that mit ihrem kleinen Munde,
Was Neid und Mutter nie erfährt!
O du geliebte, gute Stunde,
Du bist mein ganzes Leben werth!

Confirmed with Almanach der deutschen Musen, Leipzig: Weigand, 1772, page 196.
