by Otto Inkermann (1823 - 1862), as C. O. Sternau

Vertrauen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es weht durch euren Frieden,
ihr schönen Erdengau'n,
du Gottes Welt hienieden,
ein seliges Vertrau'n;
Wer weinend sucht auf Erden
Des Glückes gold'ne Ruh',
der deckt sich still vertrauend
mit eurem Frieden zu.

Es winkt von Himmelshöhen
so mancher Stern uns zu:
Hier, wo wir leuchtend gehen,
da wandelst bald auch du.
Trag mutig deine Bürde
Dem nahen Ziele zu,
es führt zu höh'rer Würde,
zur stillen Friedensruh'.
