Klage
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die schöne Ruh ist mir dahin,
Der Friede fortgezogen,
Und Wolken lagern um den Sinn,
Dem alles Licht entflogen.

Der Wald wie vordem herrlich rauscht,
Im Moose winkt die Blüte--
Mein Wesen aber ist vertauscht,
Zerrissen mein Gemüte!

Was hat für Weh und Bitterkeit
Sich mir ins Herz gesenket,
Dass es der selig stillen Zeit
Nur mehr in Schmerzen denket?

Ihr Lüfte, haucht das Eis mir fort,
Der Frost will mich erdrücken.--
Nur einen Blick, ach nur ein Wort,
Der Qual mich zu entrücken!
