Wie so oft im Wellentanz
Trug mich mein wonniger See!
Alles deckte der Lenzesglanz,
Ahnen und Bangen und Weh!

Tausend Stürme sind nun vertost,
Mancher noch tückisch harrt;
Doch der Wind bläst so fröhlich von Ost,
Ladet zu fröhlicher Fahrt.

Trag mich, Schifflein, zum duftigen Strand,
Einsam und rosenumhegt.
Dort im lieblichen Wunderland
Ahnen und Bangen sich legt.
