Wenn ich kommen dich seh' in das Antlitz dir schau,
welch ein Feuer ergießt in die Seele sich mir,
wenn du aufsiehst mein Lieb, so erbeb' ich erglüh,
und bewußtlos und stumm, bleib' ich stehen vor dir,
Wenn du aufsiehst zu mir so versagt mir der Laut.
Keine Antwort hab' ich auf dein Wort, deinen Gruß,
für dein Liebkosen, ach! und entzückende Lust,
hat auf Erden allhier keine Worte der Mensch
dies ist Leben, o Maid, dies ist Leben, mein Lieb,
will mein Lebtag hinfort leben so nur wie heut!
