Schlummerlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Schlafe nur süß mein lieber Dohl!
Im Paradies! Wie ist es dir wohl
Wo nur Liebe, nur Friede wohnt
Wo man mit seeligen Freuden dir lohnt
Wo Engelein seelig dich tragen gelind!
Zur himmlischen Ruhe, mein liebes Kind!
Du auch, o theurer Felix mein,
Giengst längst voran in die Ruhe ein!
Hast dir geholt dein lieb' Brüderlein
Hinauf in den ewigen Sonnenschein!
Seeliger Friede wiege dich ein,
Dort oben beim lieben Vater dein!

Slumber song
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Only sleep sweetly, my dear Dohl!
In paradise! How well you must feel there
Where only love, only peace dwells,
Where you are recompensed with blissful joys,
Where angels blessedly and gently carry you
To heavenly rest, my dear child!
You, too, oh precious Felix of mine,
You long went ahead into the eternal rest!
Now you have taken your dear little brother
Up into the eternal sunshine!
May blessed peace rock you to sleep,
Up there with your beloved father!
So rest then in Paradise!
Rest sweetly now from earthly agonies!
You are both well now in the light of Heaven!
Before the face of your Father!
May heavenly peace rock you to sleep!
You dear, precious children of mine!
