by Aloys Wilhelm Schreiber (1761 - 1841)

Aus der Novelle "Der Sänger"
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Sänger zieht im Lenz hinaus
In´s grüne Haus,
wo kleine Vöglein singen,
Wo frische Bächlein springen.

Das Lied wacht auf in seiner Brust,
Mit Jugend Lust,
will es in´s neue Leben,
Auf leichtem Fittig schweben.

Doch ach, es blüht nur einmal mir
Der Frühling hier,
und meine schönen Lieder,
Sie kehren nimmer wieder.

Das Laub so grünes fallt herab
Auf´s Blumen Grab,
die Schwalbe sucht die Ferne,
Dort leuchten mild´re Sterne.

Fort Schifflein, auf die blaue Flut,
Die nimmer ruht,
ein Land nur will ich sehen,
Dann magst du untergehen.
