Quando l'Alba in Oriente
l'almo sol s'appresta a scorgere
giù dal mar la veggiam sorgere cinta in gonna rilucente,
onde lampi si diffondono
che le stelle in Ciel ascondono.

Sì di fregi alta, e pomposa
va per le strade che s'infiorano
va su nembi che s'indorano;
l'altre Dee che la rimirano
per invidia ne sospirano.

E ciò ver qual più n'apprezza
per beltade a l'Alba inchinasi
non per questo ella vicinasi
di mia donna alla bellezza:
i suoi pregi Alba t'oscurano
tutte l'alme accese il giurano.
