Le grillon des foyers

En hiver,
Quand la bûche chante
Dans la cheminée,
Le petit grillon des foyers
Vient écouter la chanson légère
Et si touchante
Que dit le bois qui meurt.
A son tour, le grillon entonne
Son petit couplet monotone.
Puis à l'unisson,
Tandis que la flamme s'irise
La bûche d'or et le noir grillon
Improvisent
Un petit duo sans tapage,
Un petit duo de regrets
Où il y a des odeurs de feuillages
Et le souvenir de la forêt.
