Vom bleichen Fischerknaben

Language: German (Deutsch)

Der bleiche Fischerknabe,
Er sitzet an dem See.
Sein Mund ist ohne Klage,
Sein Herz ist ihm so weh.

Die strenge Herrin naht,
"Führ' mich zu jenem Strand!"
Er weiss, wie oft sie drüben
Den stolzen Buhlen fand.

In ihre schwarzen Augen
Schaut er so sehnsuchtswild,
Er stehet an dem Steuer,
Ein bleiches Schmerzensbild;

Die Wellen brausen über,
Es sinkt der leichte Kahn.
Ertrunken ist Knecht und Herrin,
Weiss nicht wer's gethan.
