So wie ich Dein gedenke

Language: German (Deutsch)

Du meines Lebens Sonne,
  Mein Stern in dunkler Nacht,
Du meines Herzens Wonne,
  Wie hab' ich dein gedacht!
O, daß mein Lieben sänke
  Tief dir in's Herz hinein!
So wie ich dein gedenke,
  So denket Niemand dein!

Ich heb' zu Gott die Hände
  Im Flehen Nacht und Tag,
Das dir ein Glück ohn' Ende,
  Ohn' Ende blühen mag!
Daß er dein Schicksal lenke
Dein Werden und dein Sein --
So wie ich dein gedenke
  Denkt keine Seele dein!

Und dies noch sei mein Flehen:
  Wenn einst ich sterben muß,
Seitdem ich dich gesehen,
  Daß sterbend ich im Kuß
Von deinen Lippen tränke
Und schlief im Kusse ein --
Im Tode noch gedänke
  Dann meine Seele dein.
