You can help us modernize! The present website has been online for a very long time and we want to bring it up to date. As of May 6, we are $2,380 away from our goal of $15,000 to fund the project. The fully redesigned site will be better for mobile, easier to read and navigate, and ready for the next decade. Please give today to join dozens of other supporters in making this important overhaul possible!

Die Waldblume

Language: German (Deutsch)

Im Föhrenwald alleine
Steht eine Blume dort,
Die blüht beim Sternenscheine
An einem düstren Ort.

Dahin will ich mich setzen,
Zur Blume heimlich hin,
Will sie mit Thränen netzen,
Weil ich verlassen bin.

Ihr will ich Alles sagen,
Was meine Seele quält,
Und will ihr Alles klagen,
Was Allen ich verhehlt.

Und muß sie einst erbleichen
Zu einer schlimmen Zeit,
So will ich gerne schweigen,
Zum Todesschlaf bereit.

Doch tönt des Lenzes Weise
Uns wieder an das Ohr,
So brechen froh und leise
Wir als zwei Blumen vor.

Zwei Blumen an der Stelle
In großer Lenzespracht,
Die btühen gar so helle
Um jede Mitternacht.
